On Tuesday, May 3, the School of General Studies celebrated the academic excellence and outstanding leadership of students of the Class of 2022 at the Academic Prizes and Student Leadership Awards Ceremony.
On Friday, May 13, 53 GS seniors were inducted into the New York Delta Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The ceremony, which took place at Faculty House on the Columbia Morningside Campus, included speeches by PBK Chapter President Patricia G. Lindemann, Vice President Dean Lisa Rosen-Metsch, and Secretary Victoria Rosner.

This year’s speaker representing the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 is Alison (Ali) Block. The honoree was selected by a special committee to address their peers at the 2022 GS Class Day ceremony, speaking to the unique experiences that the Classes of 2020 and 2021 shared as they worked to overcome the challenges of finding success and graduating during the pandemic.
