Listening Tables: A Campus Initiative for Connection and Understanding

Listening Tables are set up around the Morningside campus by Columbia faculty, administrators, and students to encourage meaningful dialogue, understanding, and feedback on important issues. These tables provide a space for students to share perspectives, foster connections, and contribute to a more inclusive and engaged campus community.

March 12, 2025

A diverse group of Columbia faculty, administrators, and students are setting up Listening Tables in neutral areas around the Morningside campus. These tables provide an opportunity for meaningful conversation, connection, and feedback on important issues. The goal is to foster understanding across differences and create a space for new ideas to emerge, helping to build a more connected and engaged community.

Listening Tables offer a chance for all students to participate in honest dialogue, share perspectives, and contribute to the creation of a more open and inclusive campus environment. We believe true listening can make a significant impact on bridging differences and generating new solutions.

Upcoming Listening Table:

March 26, 2025 | 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at John Jay Dining Hall

This event is open to all students.
