Lewisohn Hall Summer Closure | Summer 2022 Temporary Relocation to Uris Hall

All personnel and administrative functions located in Lewisohn Hall have been temporarily relocated to Uris Hall for the period from May 23, 2022 through August 19, 2022.

In order to allow for essential infrastructure upgrades in Lewisohn Hall this summer, Columbia Facilities has made the decision to relocate all personnel and administrative functions located in Lewisohn Hall to Uris Hall for the period from May 23, 2022 through August 19, 2022. More specific details will be shared in the coming days, but below are some critical updates for students regarding the relocation of Columbia GS offices and resources.

  • GS summer offices in Uris Hall will be open to students as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1.
  • Lewisohn Hall is closed to all traffic through Friday, August 19.
  • Throughout the duration of the relocation, all GS offices will operate virtually every Monday and Friday. GS students will have access to GS offices in Uris via Columbia ID swipe access Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Prospective Student Support

  • Admissions Information Sessions will be held on the first floor of Uris Hall in the First Floor Conference Room (Suite #107).
  • The Office of Admissions will be located on the third floor of Uris Hall in Suite #310.

Current Student Support

  • The Office of the Dean and GS Office of Student Life will be located on the second floor of Uris Hall.
  • To facilitate a streamlined student experience, all student-support offices currently located in Lewisohn Hall, including the offices of academic advising, educational financing, academic affairs, well-being and Postbac Premed advising will be conveniently located together on the 8th floor of Uris Hall. 
  • While the move from Lewisohn will require the temporary closure of the GS Student Lounge, GS students will have full access to the Watson Library in Uris Hall for the duration of the summer.

Please note: The GS Academic Resource Center will remain open in its current space on the second floor of 601 W 111th Street and the northwest corner of Broadway.
