Financial Aid Application Deadline for Continuing Students

Deadline: Mon., April 3

GS institutional scholarships and federal financial aid are not automatically renewed. Students that have received funding in the past must reapply each year for continued eligibility.

All GS undergraduate students* are eligible to apply, even if they have not received funding in the past.

February 03, 2023

*Note:

How to Apply

Please note that applications will not be considered complete until the GS Office of Educational Financing receives all required documentation listed below. Applications received after the deadline are not guaranteed consideration for institutional financial aid and will not receive award notifications in a timely manner.

All Students

  • Continuing Student Scholarship Application Form: Access via the Student Success Portal in the “Forms” section

    • Note: Students admitted for Fall 2021 or after who have not previously submitted a CSS Profile are required to complete the 2022-2023 CSS Profile in order to be considered for GS institutional aid

  • Planned Enrollment Form: This form collects information about anticipated enrollment for the 2023-2024 academic year (Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024)

US Citizens and Permanent Residents

  • 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Students will need their 2021 wage and income information; we recommend using FAFSA’s IRS Data Retrieval Tool to report income information, if possible, and be sure to include Columbia University’s School Code (002707) on the application

International Students (not US Citizens or Permanent Residents)

Summer Scholarships

GS institutional scholarships are available for the 2023 summer term. There is no additional application required for summer scholarships—just be sure to include anticipated summer enrollment on the Planned Enrollment Form and complete the institutional scholarship application by April 3.

Tracking Your Scholarship and Financial Aid Documents

Students may track their scholarship and financial aid application documents and view relevant messages online. Once logged in, click on “Menu” then “Documents & Messages” in the upper-left corner to track applications and complete required forms. Note: It may take up to a week for documents to appear in the system, and you will only see submitted documents listed.

The timing of awards depends on many factors including the availability of funding, the review of Satisfactory Academic Progress, the setting of tuition and fees, and the volume of applications received. We expect to release financial aid award information for 2023-2024 in early summer.

Please be sure to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about GS institutional scholarships or the federal financial aid application process. You may schedule a time to meet with a financial aid counselor or email [email protected].
