Columbia University Statement on Affirmative Action Cases

July 06, 2023

Dear GS Community,

I am sharing with you below the University’s statement regarding today’s Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action.

At this time, it is critical to recognize and to be very proud that diversity has been core to our mission at Columbia GS since our School’s inception. I look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks and months as the University administration gains a better understanding of the implications of this ruling and what it means for our students, staff, and community.

Best regards,

Lisa Rosen-Metsch
Dean, Columbia University School of General Studies
