The Columbia Exploration Externship (CEE) program offers Columbia first-year undergraduate students unique opportunities to gain first-hand experience in fields of their interest. Alumni from organizations throughout the New York City metro area will host externs during spring break week to expose them to their industries, companies, and careers.
CEE externs have the opportunity to:
- Shadow a professional/alumnus and gain exposure to a career field of interest
- Acquire knowledge of how to apply competencies from academic studies in a workplace setting
- Complete a short-term project assigned by the student’s alumni host
- Make career connections and successfully build and sustain professional networks
- Learn how to assess a particular field and expand understanding of a possible career path
