Apply for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) for Summer 2026

The Office of Student Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons invites eligible School of General Studies undergraduate students to apply for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP).

July 16, 2026

CSTEP is a four-week summer program running from July 27 through August 21 for students interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, healthcare, health-related fields, technical fields, and other licensed professions.

The program includes:

  • Academic coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus
  • MCAT preparation
  • Professional development workshops
  • Lunch & Learn sessions
  • Hands-on clinical experiences, including dissections and suturing
  • Academic enrichment, advising, mentorship, and career development
  • Clinical and research exposure
  • Service-learning and exam preparation support

Students interested in medicine, public health, engineering, computer science, biomedical innovation, research, and related pathways are encouraged to apply.

Applications and supplementary materials are reviewed on a rolling basis, so interested students should apply as soon as possible. Recommendation letters may be submitted after the application if needed.
