Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national hospital-based program that promotes early literacy by encouraging medical providers to give books to children and share the importance of reading aloud during well-child visits. As a volunteer, you’ll read to children in the clinic waiting room—creating a calm, engaging space and helping families feel more welcome before their visit.
What You’ll Do:
- Read aloud to young children in the pediatric clinic waiting room
- Promote early literacy through stories and conversation
- Create a warm, friendly, and comforting environment for families
