Established in 2005 with a $12 million gift from the late University Trustee Gerry Lenfest, the Lenfest Award not only carries with it professional recognition; it provides an unrestricted stipend of $25,000 each year for three years.
Honoring and publicly celebrating distinguished teachers and mentors is an important way to express our gratitude and provide additional support to faculty who give so much to students over the years.
The Executive Committee for the Arts and Sciences is seeking nominations of full-time faculty appointed in the Arts and Sciences for the award. Nominations should include a description of the candidate’s distinction in teaching and mentorship. Nomination materials should be no more than 3 pages in length total, and may include one or more letters of support from students, department chairs, or colleagues, typically from within the University—though testimony from the profession more broadly is sometimes provided.
