February 9, 2024
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
America/New_York
Faculty House, 64 Morningside Dr., New York, NY 10027 Skyline Ballroom

Lisa Rosen-Metsch, Dean of the Columbia University School of General Studies and Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, will present a special research lecture for Postbac Premed and undergraduate premedical students. The talk will feature highlights of one of her current studies, funded by the NIH/National Institute on Drug Abuse, which examines health care provider stigma towards treating and caring for people with substance use disorders (as compared to other health conditions). Dean Rosen-Metsch will present findings from a recent probability survey of 1,240 primary care and emergency department physicians and dentists in the United States. The implications of the findings will be discussed as we look to curb one of the worst overdose epidemics in our nation’s history.

Lunch will be provided in the style of an American buffet featuring selections of salad, grilled chicken, salmon, pasta, vegetables, fruit, and more. Vegan, Gluten Free, and Kosher options will be offered.
