Join GS alumni and students for a compelling conversation with Columbia Professors Michael Rebell and Roger Lehecka '67CC, '74GSAS. The discussion will be followed by catered reception with beer, wine, and light bites.
Last November, Professor Michael Rebell filed a federal lawsuit against Rhode Island for failing to prepare children for citizenship, arguing that that failing violates their rights under the United States Constitution. This past spring semester, Professor Roger Lehecka '67CC, '74GSAS taught the seminar Equity in Higher Education.
This event will explore how children have a variety of rights under the Constitution, but without establishing an explicit right to a quality education, some of the existing Constitutional rights cannot be realized.
