Columbia is one of the world’s premier research universities, and as an undergraduate, you have the opportunity to actively participate in research across our campus. Your prior experience matters less than your curiosity and eagerness to get involved!
This workshop will explore the many benefits of engaging in research. You’ll learn how research can help you:
-
Explore your intellectual interests
-
Understand the boundaries of knowledge in your field
-
Develop problem-solving skills systematically
-
Build connections with faculty members
-
Prepare for future educational and career opportunities
We’ll also provide guidance on discovering your research interests, reaching out to potential mentors, and identifying available resources—including potential summer research opportunities. Additionally, a panel of GS student researchers will share their experiences and insights.
GS students from all years are encouraged to attend. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants before the event. The session will be recorded, and the recording link will be shared with all registrants afterward.
