Columbia is one of the world’s premier research universities. As an undergraduate here, you have the opportunity to actively participate in ongoing research across our campus. Your prior experience is less important than your eagerness to dive in! In this workshop, we will explore the numerous advantages of engaging in research. You'll learn how research allows you to explore your intellectual interests, understand the boundaries of knowledge within your chosen field, systematically develop problem-solving skills, build connections with faculty members, and prepare for future educational and career prospects. We'll also guide you in discovering your research interests, reaching out to potential research mentors, and identifying available research resources, including potential summer research opportunities. Furthermore, we're excited to welcome a panel of GS student researchers who will share their experiences with you. GS students from all years are encouraged to attend.
A Zoom link for the workshop will be sent to all registered participants 1-2 hours before the event begins. The session will be recorded, and the recording link will be shared with all registrants after the event.
