The Dean of Students Office invites first-generation and low-income students to gather for a monthly community space and resource share. This month, students are invited to attend a financial literacy workshop featuring guest speaker, Jale Banay. Jale Banay is a highly motivated Client Director with more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. As an expert in her field, she has extensive knowledge regarding topics such as stocks, bonds, and 401K. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of purchasing a home, saving for retirement, and student loans. Students can expect to learn the fundamentals of financial literacy and steps they can take now to plan for their future. The Zoom link to participate will be emailed to registrants 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Jale Banay

Jale Banay received her Bachelor of Science concentration in Accounting degree from New Jersey City University and her Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Management Information Systems from Montclair State University.  Jale has been in the Financial/Broker Dealer industry for over 20 years.  She started at UBS Financial Services and became an Operations Manager, moving on to being a Product Manager for over 12 years.  Jale moved to Boston, MA and Manchester, NH for almost five years and returned back to her home state of NJ in 2017.  Currently, Jale is Vice President of Wealth Management Client Tax Operations at a Broker Dealer in the Financial District of Manhattan.  Her team consists of 20 individuals who manage the year end for the US, Canada, Australia and UK tax reporting for various business units including Retirements and Stock Options.
