Kirsty Jardine '15GS, '16PH grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa where she worked as a market research project administrator as well as an EMT and emergency services volunteer for the City of Johannesburg Emergency Services. She moved to New York in 2010 and started her Columbia journey in spring 2011. While at GS, Kirsty was actively involved as a student life volunteer, served as senior class vice president on the GSSC, was instrumental in establishing the Columbia University Family Support Network, and was among the first group of students selected to serve as a Peer Advisor. She was a recipient of the Dean’s Citation, GS Spirit, GS Service, and GS Owl awards.
She graduated from GS in May 2015 with her BA in Classical studies and was the first student accepted into GS's dual degree program with Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health, completing her master’s degree in October 2016. After graduating from Columbia, she worked at Columbia Law School before moving to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to work for the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response. She most recently worked as the Director of IT Strategy and Partnerships for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), working to deliver meaningful, innovative, high-performing, cost-effective technology solutions for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers.
