About the Speakers
Robert Mueller ’25GS grew up in Germany and began his professional journey by teaching German and math to refugees during a gap year after high school. At 19, he moved to California to work as an au pair in Santa Monica and later relocated to White Plains, New York during the pandemic.
Before transferring to Columbia University’s School of General Studies, Robert attended community college. He graduated with a degree in financial economics and a special concentration in business management. As a student leader, he served as First-Year Class President on the General Studies Student Council and as Vice President of GS Alliance, the School of General Studies' LGBTQ+ student organization.
Kennedy Roese ’22GS is an Associate at American Securities, where she works on the Strategy Team within the Resources Group, supporting due diligence and value creation across the firm’s portfolio.
Prior to American Securities, Kennedy was part of the Corporate Strategy & Business Development team at Summit Materials, where she focused on strategic M&A and portfolio development initiatives until the company’s acquisition by Quikrete in early 2025. She began her career at Oliver Wyman, advising clients on growth strategy, operational improvement, and commercial due diligence across a range of industries.
Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Arts in art history and business management from Columbia University, graduating cum laude, and is based in New York City. She is also an advisor for NYC Pace, which facilitates non-profit consulting services for small business owners and entrepreneurs located in the greater New York area.
