Lunch and Learn: Breaking into Consulting

Join us for a discussion with Robert Mueller ’25GS about his nontraditional career path to consulting. He will share his personal journey, insights, and practical advice for launching a successful career in the field. Lunch will be served during the discussion.

Robert Mueller ’25GS was born and raised in Germany. After high school, he spent a year teaching German and math to refugees before moving abroad at 19 to work as an au pair in Santa Monica, California. During the pandemic, he extended his time as an au pair and relocated to White Plains, New York.

Before enrolling at Columbia University’s School of General Studies, Robert attended community college. At Columbia, he earned a degree in financial economics with a special concentration in business management and served as First-Year Class President for the General Studies Student Council and as Vice President of the GS Alliance, GS’s LGBTQ+ club.
