Join GS alumnus Keith Hightower as he discusses his nontraditional path to law school. Keith majored in political science and earned his Bachelor of Arts from the Columbia School of General Studies in 2009, his Master of Education in teaching from the University of Hawaii in 2013, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law, graduating in 2017 with Pro Bono Highest Honors. 

Hightower is the Founder & Chief Dispute Resolution Officer of Resolve it Nevada, LLC, an alternative dispute resolution firm established in 2020. As a conflict resolution strategist, Keith has been recognized for his exceptional interpersonal and diplomacy skills, having mediated over 900 cases where he guided participants to outcomes that saved hundreds of families from eviction, resolved over a million dollars in past due rent, and saved courts time and resources by reducing caseloads. 

He previously directed the government affairs and corporate relationships at Teach For America Las Vegas where he advocated for educational equity for all children regardless of their zip code. Prior to his role with TFA, Keith served on, Nevada Governor, Steve Sisolak’s senior leadership team as the Governor’s Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs Director.

Keith was appointed to the Board of Visitors at Columbia University's School of General Studies in 2020, he serves on the UNLV Law School Advisory Board for the Justice Michael L. Douglas Pre-Law Fellowship Program, and sits on the executive leadership board for the Las Vegas National Bar Association. For his public service work and early achievements, Keith was honored with UNLV Law School’s prestigious Young Alumni Award in 2019.
