Events

GS premeds are invited to learn about volunteer opportunities at The New York Brain Bank (NYBB) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. NYBB volunteers will:

1. Assist staff in banking and organizing frozen post-mortem tissue.

2. Assist staff in fulfilling tissue requests and providing additional information on tissue.

3. Organize, label, and file slides, donor information charts, and formalin-fixed tissue.

4. Stock, clean, and prepare the cutting room for incoming cases.

5. Fulfill lab upkeep tasks, including regular checks of freezer temperatures.
