GS Family Outing - Bronx Children's Museum

February 15, 2025
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
America/New_York

On Saturday, February 15, join GS students, alumni, and families for a day of fun at the Bronx Children's Museum.

Bronx Children’s Museum has more than 10,000 sq ft. of active exhibit space where families can play, learn, and connect with the wider Bronx and its natural and cultural resources through STEAM-based art, dramatic role-play, and scientific exploration. Exhibits include:

  • The Waterways: Featuring an immersive water table that mimics the look and feel of the Bronx River, Harlem River, and Orchard Beach. (This exhibit has a lot of water fun—a change of clothes is recommended as children will get wet)
  • The Nest: A designated sensory play space for little ones (0 - 3).
  • The Block: A miniature replica of a local neighborhood paying homage to the Casitas in the South Bronx.
  • And more!

Executive Director, author, and Columbia School alumna, Denise Rosario Adusei will hold a special storytime and art-making in the Cloud especially for the group!

And as part of celebrating Black History Month, visitors will also be creating mixed media wire sculptures inspired by the contemporary artist, Martha Jackson Jarvis.
