The Dean of Students invites first-generation and lower-income students to celebrate National First-Generation College Celebration Day at 314, an authentic Italian restaurant serving pizza and pasta. Join us for a social hour to mix and mingle with fellow GS FLI students and staff over food and drinks. Please note that this is a standing-room event, with limited seating available as needed.
More About National First-Generation College Celebration Day
National First-Generation College Celebration Day is observed annually on November 8 to commemorate the signing of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965. This act established federal financial aid programs to help fund students’ education and made key investments in colleges and universities. Many of the HEA’s programs promote postsecondary access, retention, and completion for today’s first-generation and limited-income college students.
