Featuring:

Sarah Walker '95GS LMSW at The Jewish Board and Marx Counseling Center graduated with a BA in psychology, while still working fairly steadily as a commercial actress. In her youth, she had started college at Sarah Lawrence but got side tracked by a modeling/acting career. Realizing acting is “all about you”, she decided to go back to school to finish what she had started. Sarah was so thrilled to find GS! After graduating, Sarah received her MSW from Fordham University School of Social Work and has worked as a social worker in various capacities from trauma informed therapy at Montefiore Hospital to New Alternatives for Children in foster care. Currently, she works at The Jewish Board in their mental health clinic at PS 111 on Manhattan’s west side. Sarah sits on The Lincoln Fund Board, has twin boys who just started college and is part of a co-producing team for off Broadway productions!

Orly Ratzabi-Cohen '12GS School Counselor at Global Community Charter School is a proud graduate of Columbia University’s School of General Studies (‘12) and Teachers College (‘16). She was a member of the General Studies Honor Society and recipient of the Alumni Key Award for academic achievement and service to the school. Throughout Orly’s me in GS, she served as an Orientation Leader, Student Life Volunteer, and Peer Mentor. She is passionate about supporting Columbia students - in her professional life as a School Counselor, she mentors and supervises counseling interns from TC, and provides them with a fieldwork experience that enhances their skill set and prepares them to enter the workforce confidently upon graduation. Orly very much looks forward to continuing to support the Columbia community, particularly as a member of the GSAA Board, working with her fellow alumni in support of GS’s mission.
