This spring, the Military Veterans of Columbia University and Columbia Community Service are working to address the ongoing food insecurity on campus and in the surrounding community.
The Columbia Student Pantry located on the Fifth floor of Lerner Hall has been serving students since 2017. The Pantry has been struggling since COVID due to a growing increase in student need. Its current food supply is critically low and they can use canned meats, vegetables, soups and items that can make a quick meal.
Through its Food Relief Campaign, Columbia Community Service provides grants to programs in Harlem and Morningside Heights that combat hunger. The Columbia Food Drive will support organizations such as Broadway Community, Cathedral Community Cares, Church of the Ascension, NY Common Pantry, and Westside Campaign Against Hunger.
Drop off unexpired, non-perishable foods such as canned soups, meats, packaged pasta, and canned vegetables between 10:00am to 4:00pm at one of the following locations (more will be added for your convenience):
- Lerner Hall (Near Lerner Café Entrance)
- John Jay (Dining Hall Entrance)
- Kent Hall (CVTI, Room 205)
- Lewisohn Hall (GS Lounge)
- Milstein Center, Barnard College (Entrance to the left)
- Low Library (Public Safety Receptionist Desk)

Make a Donation at any time during the Drive. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible.
Together, we can help feed families and make our communities stronger - one meal at a time!
