The purpose of this session is to discuss an often-overlooked aspect of the application process: how applicants spend their time during the application year when not engaged in application-related activities. Throughout this year, applicants will be communicating with medical schools, particularly during interviews. They should be able to draw on their current experiences to support their commitment to a career in medicine. This session will explore various types of pursuits and highlight specific opportunities.
The Application Launchpad series is intended for GS premeds—postbacs and undergrads—who are planning to apply to medical, dental, or veterinary as linkage candidates during the current academic year or next summer as general applicants. The series, which traverses the fall and spring semester, includes sessions devoted to: what to do during the application year; deciding where to apply; the parts of the formal application process; interviewing; and "Traffic Rules." The final session in the series is our annual Application Year Panel.
