Application Launchpad I: An MCAT Primer

November 10, 2021
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
America/New_York
Lewisohn Hall, 2970 Broadway, New York, NY 10027

This session is conceived as a complement to the MCAT panel that occurred on October 28. At the panel, students heard testimony from peers who recently took the exam about how they prepared, scheduling decisions they faced, and the experience of taking the exam. The purpose of this session is to provide some basic information about the exam, its contents, length, scoring, and purpose, scheduling decisions, developing a plan of study, resources (free and low-cost), the Fee Assistance Program, and accommodations for exams. (Focus will be on the MCAT because ~95% of GS prehealth students are premed and almost all of them have to take this exam.)

About The Application Launchpad Events Series

The Application Launchpad Events Series is intended for GS premeds (postbacs and undergrads) who have recently attended a General Applicants Meeting and are planning to apply to medical (or dental or veterinary) school over the summer 2022 for the Entering Class of 2023 (EC23). The series starts in the fall semester because the application cycle will begin before you know it, and there are some actions it may be worth taking now. Also, having some basic information about applying and knowing what to anticipate could be useful. We hope these discussions help to inform individual consultations you may have with your advisor.
