Alumni in Conversation: The Road to Medical School

Panelists will include:

Candida Damian ‘20PBPM
Candida Damian attended nursing school in Nashville, TN and moved to New York after graduation to attend Columbia’s Postbac Premed program. This fall, Candida will begin at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, having been accepted through Columbia’s linkage program.

Camille Reeves ‘18PBPM
Camille Reeves hails from the Hudson Valley, NY. She is about to enter Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and is interested in pediatrics and pathology. Prior to the Postbac Premed program, Camille worked in human services and later at a community health center. Those experiences helped propel her to want to pursue medicine.

Dominique Fontaine ‘18PBPM
Dominique Fontaine is originally from Stamford, CT. A debilitating medical condition interfered with her premedical studies during undergrad at Dartmouth, leading her to pursue the Postbac Premed Program after her graduation. Dominique will be attending Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth this coming August, and is interested in pursuing neurosurgery.

Meraash Mahajuodeen ‘18PBPM
Meraash Mahajuodeen hails from ayurvedic healers in Sri Lanka. He assisted members of Doctors Without Borders in conflict zones and refugee camps, and addressed the UN regarding his work as a human rights documentary filmmaker. After starting a tea company and then becoming a firefighter, he decided to pursue his lifelong ambition to study medicine. Meraash will be attending Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine this fall.
