Megan was on a traditional path to earn her undergraduate degree until December 2012 when she left UC Santa Barbara. She worked as a youth swim and water polo coach, eventually being asked to work with the Olympic Development Program. She also worked as an Autism Specialist Paraprofessional where she began to remember what it was like in a school environment and how much she truly enjoyed learning. In October of 2016 she had decided to go back to school and in this same month she learned about the School of General Studies, where she would have an opportunity to return to college in a traditional setting and have the adventure of a lifetime. She enrolled in a community college to prepare for the academic world again and began writing and rewriting her application and essay, and was accepted to GS in the fall of 2018. Once at GS, Megan joined GSSC and other campus organizations in order to meet great leaders and give back in whatever way she could. After graduating in May 2020, Megan joined Bank of America as a Strategy and Management Analyst.
