Position Description:
The New York Retina Center is seeking a volunteer Ophthalmology Technician to support patient care in an ambulatory subspecialty practice. This role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting, especially those considering careers in medicine, optometry, or ophthalmology.
Responsibilities include:

Interacting with patients before their doctor visit

Measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure

Performing diagnostic imaging and tests to prepare patients for evaluation
Position Requirements:

College degree and prior healthcare experience strongly encouraged

Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Interest in ophthalmology or clinical care preferred
Time Commitment:
Volunteer shifts available:

Mondays and Thursdays
-
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Compensation:
Unpaid (Volunteer position)
