Position Description
Columbia University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is seeking a volunteer research assistant for the Perinatal RISE Laboratory.

Position Requirements

  • Gaining research experience relevant to graduate or medical school
  • Earning letters of recommendation
  • Developing skills related to database design, data collection and analysis
  • Potentially co-author manuscripts, IRB applications, and conference presentations
  • Developing independent projects
  • Using specific skill sets (e.g. graphic design or statistical programs)
  • Obtaining course credit
  • Examples of current research topics include (but are not limited to): Implementing trauma-informed obstetric care in Argentina, Early interventions or prenatal to age three interventions, Perinatal home-visiting intervention evaluation, Examining behavioral and biological markers of the formation of infant health and developmental trajectories, Mechanisms of intergenerational transmission of risk for poor mental health in contexts of adversity

Time Commitment
Part-time, with a minimum 1-year commitment (8 hours/week) to the lab. Applicants must be available on Mondays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. for lab meetings over Zoom.

If invited, the first round of interviews will be held between August 21 and August 29. The second round will be held between September 5 and September 7.
