Position Description
Ditmas Park Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn is seeking a student to serve as a part-time volunteer clinical intern to assist with wound care rounds led by a general surgeon. Interns will be exposed to a wide variety of wounds afflicting patients and learn about wound etiologies and treatments including wound stages, anatomy, and surgical procedures. Interns will also learn about various other medical cases during the weekly end-of-rounds.

Responsibilities Include
- Assisting the general surgeon during examinations and surgical procedures
- Recording wound dimensions, descriptions, and treatments
Position Requirements
- Must be able to attend the entire duration of rounds every Wednesday for six consecutive months
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
Time Commitment
Part-time (every Wednesday 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.), with a minimum commitment of six consecutive months
