The Emergency Department of Bellevue Hospital Center is seeking a research associate for their Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment, Opioid Education, and Naloxone Distribution (SBIRT-OEND) study at Bellevue for Fall 2021–Spring 2022.
Screening and interacting with patients using an approved script to identify those at risk
Assisting emergency department staff with patient care
Identifying risky substance use among patients and provide them with appropriate intervention
Assisting with all other responsibilities assigned
Strong interest in healthcare (aspiring doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, and clinical social workers) as well as students who are uncertain about pursuing a career in healthcare
At least one year of undergraduate studies a plus
Research experience a plus
Part-time. SBIRT-OEND research associates are expected to dedicate two four-hour-shifts per week (research associates can dedicate more shifts, if desired and available).
