Position Description
The CUIMC Emergency Medicine Research Intern Program is now accepting applications for its Spring 2026 cohort. This volunteer opportunity offers pre-health students the chance to gain foundational clinical research experience through hands-on training in either the Adult or Pediatric Emergency Department.
Interns are exposed to real-time acute clinical care settings and actively support ongoing research studies.
Responsibilities include:

Screening, consenting, and enrolling patients for clinical research

Learning and applying research ethics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

Collaborating with research coordinators, physicians, and ED staff

Participating in workshops and educational sessions
Position Requirements

Must be a current pre-medical or pre-health student whose academic program requires clinical experience

Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and attention to detail

Ability to commit to two 4-hour shifts or one 8-hour shift per week for 12 months
Time Commitment

One-year volunteer commitment (12 months)
