Position Title
Virtual Research Assessment Assistant
Position Description
The Columbia School of Social Work is seeking a research assistant to support a nationwide, multi-generational study on family structure and well-being. This role involves conducting virtual (Zoom) psychological assessments with children ages 5–9.
This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in psychology, child development, or research who enjoy working with children and families in a professional, remote setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing training on standardized psychological assessments
- Scheduling virtual assessments with mothers/guardians
- Conducting one-hour Zoom interviews with children
- Completing post-assessment documentation and procedures
Position Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with the scientific method
- Ability to work independently
- Experience working with children
- Comfort engaging with families and children on Zoom
- Availability for weekday training sessions
Time Commitment
- Up to 5 hours per week
- Some availability required 3:30–6:30 PM on weekdays and/or weekends (when children are out of school)
Compensation
$23/hour
