Position Description
Eye Surgeon PC is seeking an Opthalmology Technician to join their team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting ophthalmologists in providing patient care and performing diagnostic tests and procedures
- Preparing examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Taking and recording patients' medical history, including any ophthalmic conditions or concerns
- Performing visual acuity tests, tonometry, and other diagnostic tests as directed by the ophthalmologist
- Administering eye drops or medications as instructed by the physician
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures, including preparing sterile instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Providing patient education on eye care, contact lens use, and post-operative instructions
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient
Position Requirements
- Previous experience as an ophthalmology technician or in a related role a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy a plus
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and MS Office
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform diagnostic tests
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and efficiency
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
Time Commitment
Part-time, 20-40 hours per week
Compensation
$20-$25 per hour
