Position Description:

The Division of Endocrinology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Student Researcher to assist with two ongoing clinical research studies. This is a hands-on opportunity for students interested in clinical research and medicine to gain direct experience in a professional academic setting while supporting a collaborative team of researchers.

 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Scheduling participant study visits

  2. Screening participants for enrollment eligibility

  3. Conducting research visits (after training)

  4. Escorting and assisting participants during study appointments

  5. Data entry and database maintenance

  6. Preparing study charts and mailing results

  7. Organizing and storing participant samples

  8. Performing additional administrative or research-related tasks as needed

 

Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required

  2. Participation in Columbia’s medical surveillance program (due to contact with patients and/or human research subjects)

  3. Completion of all applicable compliance and systems training

  4. Strong communication and organizational skills

  5. Interest in clinical research, medicine, or public health is a plus

 

Time Commitment:

10–20 hours per week

 

Compensation:

  1. Paid $22/hour minimum
