Position Description
The Milner Lab within the Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University is seeking a technician A to join their team within the division of Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology. This position will support the department by providing day-to-day assistance with ongoing research projects for Dr. Joshua Milner's studies focused on the immunopathogenesis of genetic diseases that lead to allergy and immune dysregulation.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Providing support and assistance to ongoing laboratory research projects
  • Assisting with wet bench experiments; the initiation and execution of new protocols and projects
  • Keeping records of test project results; filing patient charts/data; assisting in the collection of samples for experimental or diagnostic purposes
  • Maintaining mouse colonies; tracking and ordering reagents
  • Assisting with eliciting information from patients and their families in accordance with structured interview procedures
  • Performing library and online literature research; assisting with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations; preparing manuscript, abstract and grants and performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the research projects

Position Requirements

  • Two years of college or a completed AA program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics or a completed animal husbandry program
  • One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/ or experience
  • Availability to work some early morning, weekend, and evening hours is a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time (35 hours per week)
