The Milner Lab within the Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University is seeking a technician A to join their team within the division of Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology. This position will support the department by providing day-to-day assistance with ongoing research projects for Dr. Joshua Milner's studies focused on the immunopathogenesis of genetic diseases that lead to allergy and immune dysregulation.
Providing support and assistance to ongoing laboratory research projects.
Assisting with wet bench experiments; the initiation and execution of new protocols and projects.
Keeping records of test project results; filing patient charts/data; assisting in the collection of samples for experimental or diagnostic purposes.
Maintaining mouse colonies; tracking and ordering reagents.
Assisting with eliciting information from patients and their families in accordance with structured interview procedures.
Performing library and online literature research; assisting with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations; preparing manuscript, abstract and grants and performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the research projects.
Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/ or experience.
Availability to work some early morning, weekend, and evening hours is a plus.
