Position Description
The Uhlemann Lab of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a research technician. The laboratory carries out translational research on wastewater-based surveillance of SARS-CoV-2.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting experiments, analyze results and maintain scientific records.
  • Carrying out standard procedures for protocols.
  • Performing microbiological and molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, RT-PCR and whole genome sequencing under supervision.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, complying with laboratory safety regulations, and providing quality control.
  • Performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and its research projects.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Prior research experience a plus
  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Compensation
$888.97 per week
