Position Description
The Columbia University Division of Digestive and Liver Disease in the Department of Medicine at Shin Lab is looking for a technician to join their team.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing solutions, setting up and calibrating equipment
- Carrying out fully planned experiments
- Collecting samples
- Keeping records of lab results
- Performing PCR, cell culture, DNA isolation, and immunoblotting techniques
- Handling mice for genotyping and breeding
- Assuring compliance with animal study protocols and safety regulations
Position Requirements
- Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience
- Experience with animal models, genotyping, histology, and microscopy is a plus.
- Planning to attend graduate school is a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a minimum 2 year commitment. Starting in September 2021.
Compensation
$47,613 annual salary, plus about 30% fringe
