Position Description
The El-Shamayleh Laboratory (the Vision Laboratory) at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute is seeking a full-time research staff assistant to assist with animal behavioral training and other daily duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing animal husbandry and behavioral training of large vertebrates.
- Assisting in the preparation of procedures.
- Keeping lab records and providing general lab organization.
- Performing other laboratory setup duties as assigned by the PI.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in neuroscience, biology, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 6 months of related experience in a research environment.
- Experience working with animals in research, veterinarian, or zoo setting.
- Ability to perform work in an orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations and standard lab protocols is a plus
