Position Description
The Program for Medical Education Innovations and Research (PrMEIR) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a research data associate to work closely with the program director and program manager. The associate will support and guide the work of faculty engaged in innovative educational projects and the study and dissemination of those projects to advance the scholarship of education in academic medicine.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting, promoting, and coordinating the implementation, development, delivery, and evaluation of multiple projects/programs
  • Working with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude major assignments
  • Supporting, promoting, and coordinating the development of research (gathering, collecting and analysis data)
  • Facilitating the administration process of departmental activities (e.g., maintaining records, compiling and monitoring the master schedule for meetings, writing and submitting grants, developing an annual budget, scheduling meetings, and organizing and coordinating seminars, training programs, and other related activities) for a manager or director of department
  • Working with PrMEIR Faculty and Program Manager to plan and implement medical education and research initiatives
  • Performing other duties and participating in special programs/projects as assigned
  • Supporting departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Developing program/project schedules, and overseeing program/project purchase requisitions and invoice payments
  • Evaluating and making recommendations based on analyses, observation, and/or feedback
  • Providing moderate to advanced coordination for program activities to a manager or director of department 
  • Coordinating conference preparation activities (checking and coordinating the logistics and technical support, making food and beverage arrangements, etc.) and other related activities
  • Collecting and organizing required information for grants if required; following up and coordinating resolution of all issues
  • Following protocols as defined by grant and Medical Centers policies and procedures
  • Responding to correspondence and referring complex issues with recommendation to supervisor
  • Planning, arranging, outlining, and drafting letters, memos, agendas, presentations, and reports
  • Preparing and reviewing documents independently and generating status/progress reports for ongoing and pending programs/projects
  • Developing materials and presentations for training and educational sessions, departmental seminars, and other activities
  • Researching problems, issues, and concerns and responding to requests for information
  • Researching and collecting data from different parties and presenting findings and preliminary analysis as applicable

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education, or a related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Interest in medical education, research, or health care
  • Highly developed time management skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in the role of team leader and team member
  • Interest in or experience with data analytics or research writing a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time (35 hours per week)
