Position Title

Research Associate / Technician (with Dr. Shany Koren-Hauer)

Position Description

Dr. Shany Koren-Hauer, Instructor and Sidney Farber Scholar in the Kadoch Laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, is seeking a highly qualified post-baccalaureate Research Associate/Technician to work directly with her and the broader Kadoch Lab research team.

The lab focuses on epigenetics, chromatin regulation, cell biology, biochemistry, and cancer biology. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Koren-Hauer on defined research projects while being fully integrated into the Kadoch Laboratory’s collaborative research and training environment. Additional mentorship and collaboration opportunities are available with Dr. Cigall Kadoch and other members of the lab.

This position is ideal for students planning to pursue PhD, MD, or MD/PhD programs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting laboratory research in molecular biology and related methodologies
  2. Supporting ongoing projects focused on epigenetics and chromatin regulation
  3. Collaborating with members of the Kadoch Laboratory research team
  4. Contributing to experimental design, data collection, and analysis
  5. Participating in the lab’s scientific training and mentorship environment

Position Requirements

  1. Prior laboratory research experience (typically 1–2 years during undergraduate study or summer research)
  2. Undergraduate coursework in molecular biology or related fields
  3. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  4. Strong organizational and communication skills

Time Commitment

  1. Full-time
  2. Candidates must be able to commit two years and plan to apply to graduate or medical school for entry in Fall 2028.
