Position Description
The medical practice of Hillel Y. Marans, MD, FACS in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a motivated medical scribe in their busy urology practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Interviewing each patient and documenting their medical history in the EMR
- Entering findings during the physical exam and noting the impression and plan
- Finishing the summary of the visit and sending correspondence to the patient’s healthcare professionals
- Setting up the uroflowmetry equipment and explaining to patients how to use the machine
- Preparing lab cultures
- Setting up and assisting with procedures including minimally invasive prostate procedures
- Counseling patients on getting blood tests and setting up lab and radiologic appointments
Position Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and the completion of premedical coursework
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent typing skills
- The ability to learn how to use an EMR (electronic medical record)
Time Commitment
Full-time, 35-40 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of one year.
Compensation
$20 per hour
