Position Description
The CUIMC Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a laboratory technician to work in a lab studying the pathogenesis of pneumonia, during their glide year prior to going on to graduate school or medical school.

The lab focuses upon the immune response to bacterial pathogens, primarily those that are important causes of infection in hospitalized patients (Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa), and uses a variety of methodologies including tissue culture, mouse models of infection, generation of bacterial mutants, host and pathogen transcriptomics, and metabolomics. Position Requirements

  • Mastery of basic lab techniques including western blots, RT-PCR, tissue culture, etc.
  • Data analytic skills (R, Python, etc.) a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, with a minimum commitment of one year
