Position Description
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is currently accepting applications for its Medical Career Design Fellowship, a full-time 2-year gap-year research fellowship within the Division of Orthopedic Surgery. This program is ideal for recent graduates interested in clinical research and pursuing a career in medicine.
Fellows will gain firsthand exposure to pediatric orthopedics while assisting in ongoing research initiatives. This includes working closely with physicians, interacting with patients, and contributing to academic publications.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting clinical research and maintaining accurate data records
- Participating in patient enrollment and consent processes
- Supporting manuscript preparation and academic presentations
- Assisting with IRB submissions and administrative tasks
- Attending departmental meetings and collaborating with clinical teams
Position Requirements
- Completion of a BA/BS degree prior to start date
- Strong interest in medicine and clinical research
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- 2-year full-time commitment required
- Previous research experience preferred, but not required
Time Commitment
Full-time (2-year commitment), beginning Summer 2026
