Position Title
Ophthalmic Technician / Ophthalmic Scribe
Position Description
Greenwich Ophthalmology Associates is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician / Ophthalmic Scribe for a full-time clinical role designed for pre-med or pre-PA students seeking hands-on patient care experience during a gap year.
Under the supervision of ophthalmologists and optometrists, technicians will help prepare patients for exams, collect medical histories, perform diagnostic testing, and assist with clinical procedures. This role offers exposure to both medical and surgical ophthalmology, including experience in the practice’s in-office surgical suite where cataract procedures are performed.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients for ophthalmology exams
- Obtaining medical histories and patient information
- Performing diagnostic testing such as OCT and visual field testing
- Assisting physicians with procedures and injections
- Supporting daily clinical workflow
- Working closely with patients and healthcare providers in a clinical setting

Preferred but not required:
- Previous patient care or healthcare experience
- Experience in a medical office or clinical setting
Time Commitment
20–40 hours per week
