Position Description
Soho Dermatology is seeking a full-time, paid Medical Assistant for a gap-year opportunity in a private cosmetic dermatology practice. This role is ideal for candidates interested in gaining hands-on clinical experience in both procedural and general dermatology.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing treatment rooms with attention to cleanliness, safety, and presentation
- Taking vitals, medical histories, allergies, and cosmetic treatment goals
- Assisting providers during cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators, dermal fillers, laser treatments, RF/ultrasound devices, and microneedling
- Accurately documenting visits and treatments in the EMR
- Providing general clinical and administrative support as needed
Position Requirements
- Comfortable assisting with cosmetic procedures, lasers, phlebotomy, and related tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, procedure-heavy environment
- Prior experience in dermatology, aesthetics, or plastic surgery preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical training preferred
- Ability to learn and use EMR systems (ModMed preferred)
Time Commitment
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Approximately 8:30 AM–5:00/6:00 PM
- One Saturday per month (8:30 AM–1:00 PM)
- 1–2 year commitment preferred
Compensation
- $22–$24/hour
