(Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Broad Institute, and HHMI)

Position Description

The Kadoch Laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a highly motivated recent or soon-to-be BA/BS graduate to join the lab as a full-time Computational Biologist.

The lab focuses on cancer biology, epigenetics, and chromatin regulation using multidisciplinary approaches that include functional genomics, structural biology, proteomics, and AI/ML-based systems biology. Chromatin remodeling complexes are among the most frequently mutated entities in human cancers, and this position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-impact translational research.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Genomic data analysis (DNA-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, CUT&TAG, single-cell sequencing)
  2. Analysis of CRISPR and base-editing functional screening datasets
  3. Structural biology analysis (PyMOL, UCSF Chimera, mutation mapping)
  4. Mass spectrometry proteomics data integration
  5. AI/ML and systems biology approaches (e.g., AlphaFold, Rosetta)
  6. Development and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines

The selected candidate will work closely with Dr. Cigall Kadoch and senior lab members, contribute to independent projects, and have opportunities for authorship and presentations at national and international conferences.

Position Requirements

  1. Coding experience (R, Python, or similar languages)
  2. Experience in Unix environments and high-performance computing (e.g., SLURM)
  3. Working knowledge of genomic technologies and/or structural biology
  4. Ability to implement and develop bioinformatics pipelines
  5. Experience with data visualization (e.g., ggplot2, matplotlib, D3.js)
  6. Experience documenting reproducible research (Markdown, Git/GitHub)
  7. 1–2 years of research experience (dry or wet lab preferred)
  8. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Time Commitment

  1. Full-time
  2. Two-year commitment required
  3. Ideal for Spring 2026 graduates planning to apply to PhD, MD, or MD/PhD programs after completing the position

The lab has a strong track record of postbac trainees matriculating into top-tier graduate and medical programs.
