Position Description
NYU Langone Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System's NYU Medicine and VA Research & Development's Natarajan Lab has several new projects that have rich opportunities for clinical research associates at the VA Medical Center. They are looking for smart, highly responsible, organized individuals who are looking to pursue professional careers. This is a chance to be involved in cutting-edge research projects, which are evaluating different approaches to improve management of patients with cardiovascular disease and other chronic conditions. Specifically, VALOR is focused on optimizing lipids in patients with cardiovascular disease, PREVENTABLE evaluates the effect of statins in the elderly, and GOURMET will evaluate the effect of diet in improving heart failure outcomes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Working closely with patients in a hospital setting
- Assessing eligibility using electronic medical records
- Reviewing project suitability
- Screening patients, assessing clinical status, and conducting project visits
- Assisting with tasks related to conducting randomized clinical trials (PREVENTABLE and GOURMET) and for quality improvement (VALOR)
- Assisting with tasks related to qualitative and quantitative analysis, including data management and transcriptions, literature searches, and study administration
- Performing data entry and data cleaning, participant tracking, and other duties
- Opportunities for involvement in key academic deliberations with internal and external collaborators
- Opportunities to participate in research presentations and publications
Position Requirements
- College or graduate degree
- Best suited for those with intentions to apply to medical school, psychology graduate programs, or public health graduate programs

Full-time
Compensation
$53K to $60K per year with benefits
