Position Description
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a clinical research assistant to manage clinical studies focused on understanding hereditary breast cancer.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing patients' eligibility for protocols
- Recruiting and enrolling patients to clinical trials
- Discussing informed consent with patients
- Obtaining blood and tissue samples for banking protocols
- Monitoring strict adherence to protocols
- Abstracting clinical data from medical records and completing case report forms
- Managing patient data in a computerized database
- Monitoring quality and timelines of data submissions
- Overseeing the organization, storage, and inventory of tissue specimens required per protocols
- Transporting bloods and tumor specimens as needed
- Managing regulatory forms for studies and correspondence with IRB
- Representing the research program at departmental meetings.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or be a current Senior graduating in May 2022
- 0-3 years related work experience
- Working knowledge of computerized data (word processing, spreadsheets, and database)
- Experience with computer systems, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access
- Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a two-year commitment.
