Position Description
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a clinical research assistant to manage clinical studies focused on understanding hereditary breast cancer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patients' eligibility for protocols
  • Recruiting and enrolling patients to clinical trials
  • Discussing informed consent with patients
  • Obtaining blood and tissue samples for banking protocols
  • Monitoring strict adherence to protocols
  • Abstracting clinical data from medical records and completing case report forms
  • Managing patient data in a computerized database
  • Monitoring quality and timelines of data submissions
  • Overseeing the organization, storage, and inventory of tissue specimens required per protocols
  • Transporting bloods and tumor specimens as needed
  • Managing regulatory forms for studies and correspondence with IRB
  • Representing the research program at departmental meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or be a current Senior graduating in May 2022
  • 0-3 years related work experience
  • Working knowledge of computerized data (word processing, spreadsheets, and database)
  • Experience with computer systems, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access
  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus

Time Commitment
Full-time, with a two-year commitment.
