Position Description
The Iliev Lab at Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a highly motivated, independent yet team-oriented Clinical Research Assistant/Research Technician for a full-time, in-person gap year role. The lab focuses on immunology, microbiology, and clinical research involving patient-based studies and disease modeling.
This position is ideal for pre-medical or biomedical science graduates looking to gain strong clinical and laboratory research experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening and consenting patients for clinical trials
- Recruiting patients and handling clinical specimens
- Collecting and processing clinical samples
- Writing clinical trial protocols
- Assisting with in vitro and in vivo experiments
- Performing microbiology and molecular biology techniques
- Cell culturing and handling bacterial and fungal cultures
- Collaborating with postdocs, graduate students, and research staff
- Assisting with laboratory ordering and supplies
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Background in molecular biology, immunology, or microbiology preferred
- Experience with experimental methods and/or patient interaction is a plus
- Computational skills welcomed
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
Time Commitment
Full-time, in-person
Compensation
$38,400.00 – $58,000.00 per year
